The Whitworth sits at the heart of our community in Darley Dale. And it's here for everyone, forever.
The pandemic hit trade at the Whitworth very hard. Without income, saving for future capital costs has been impossible. Over the past 6 months lots of little improvements have been made, but we're on to the big ticket items now. The broken boilers and flues are now top of the 'to do' list.
This summer we are appealing for donations from local businesses, groups and the wider community to help replace the heating system.
We are delighted to have received support from Vaillant's community scheme to fund about 40% of the equipment costs, leaving around £25,000 to raise for remaining materials and installation costs.
With your help, by the autumn new equipment could be installed and all of the building could be heated for the first time in months.
All donations, however small, are important.
Donations made through this Appeal will be ring-fenced for the heating system upgrade and any unspent donations will be allocated to other maintenance projects in the future.

Recycle Your Ink Cartridges and Help Support The Whitworth Centre
Did you know that you can help us raise funds simply by recycling your ink cartridges via our Recycle4Charity programme?
For each ink cartridge recycled via the programme we will receive up to £2 donation.

Movement for Good is an annual awards programme of giving from the Benefact Trust. Anyone can get involved and they aim to donate over £1 million this year to charities and good causes. Please nominate The Whitworth for this year's away and we may receive a £1000 award.
To nominate the Whitworth follow these steps:
1. Visit the Movement for Good website
2. Search for The Whitworth Centre
3. Select 'Community' from the Charity type list
4. Enter your details and press the Nominate button.
