About the event

Brown hares are charismatic animals that grace our farmland and hills.  Once common, they are now harder to see, but local author and photographer Christine Gregory has been following and photographing them for years.

She is presenting a talk about the hare's life through the seasons.  She also explores how the presence of hares in the farmed landscape reflects the health and biodiversity of our countryside.  At a time when the natural world has been pushed to the margins, the hare connects us to the magic and mystery of life in the wild, which is the subject of Christine's book Brown Hares in the Derbyshire Dales.
