The Land that Made Us- A Talk by Christine Gregory

Local author Christine Gregory presents a slideshow/talk covering 80 years of farming history in the uplands of the South West Peak. 

Based around interviews with 50 livestock farmers, the presentation reflects on how changing priorities have impacted on farming practice since the Second World War. There are often conflicting demands between food production, wildlife conservation and preservation of landscapes that help mitigate the impacts of climate change. 

All the productive land on earth is now at a crossroads and what makes for sustainability in the short and the long term is the question we all need to ask.
