As the warmer weather returns and the park springs to life, it's the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors and try something new!
Both the Bowls Club and Croquet Club, based here at The Whitworth Park, are now welcoming new members for the 2025 season. Whether you're an experienced player or a complete beginner, you're invited to come along and give it a go. So why not get outside this spring and join in!
Whitworth Park Bowls Club
Free taster sessions start this April
Every Wednesday at 2pm – no need to book, just turn up and give it a go.
Club bowls are provided, so there's no need to bring any equipment. It’s a relaxed and welcoming way to try something new, meet others, and enjoy some fresh air.
Why join the Bowls Club?
Suitable for all ages and abilities
Friendly roll-ups throughout the season
A fun and social way to stay active
Indoor bowlers welcome to transfer to grass
Opportunity to join a league team
Membership is just £60 for the season. If you're interested, simply come along to one of the sessions to sign up.

🏑 Croquet Club
Looking for a relaxed and social outdoor activity this spring and summer? Why not give croquet a try? The Croquet Club at Whitworth Park is welcoming new members, and it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun, strategic game in a beautiful park setting.
When and where:
The club meets every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday from 2pm, right here in Whitworth Park.
Croquet is suitable for all ages and abilities, whether you're a complete beginner or looking to brush up your skills. The sessions are informal and friendly, and equipment is provided for newcomers.
Why try croquet?
Easy to learn, with plenty of depth for competitive play
Great for socialising and meeting new people
Enjoyed in a peaceful, outdoor setting
